The Brief: Explained
Hopefully your professional judgement is enough for you to already have a lot of ideas, but a few notes on the brief might help you understand how to approach it:
"Using all of the skills present within your team" - to properly respond to the brief, teams will be expected to make use of everyone's skills. This should be apparent in the final outcome. There are no passes or fails, winners or losers, but attempt to fulfil the brief as you would professionally
"create a piece of digital media content" - as you will all be aware, the competition is mixed discipline, so your teams can go with any approach you like, dependant on the skills present in your team. The timescale of a week may require you to think of an interesting mix of media!
"Light and Dark." - this is the fun part, it can be interpreted in any way you wish. You don't have to tie your ideas to literal or metaphorical, either will work and a mix of both is even better. Your take on this can be as loose or close to the brief as you like, just ensure you have a clear thought process to back up the work.
Whether its to do with the content (the emotions, themes, ideas or characters) or the process, medium and technique you use to get there, just keep the theme in mind to guide you.
Hopefully having a brief of this kind will speed up the process of settling on a concept to work on.
Good luck to all teams!
